Asalama ALeikum, wearing sports clothing glorifying kuffar is not allowed any way especially if its a kufar!
Na’am. I have seen that way to often, brothers need to make sure they look like believers as well.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock. A man is the shepherd of the people of his house and he is responsible. A woman is the shepherd of the house of her husband and she is responsible. Each of you is a shepherd and each is responsible for his flock.”
[Narrated by Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهما in Sahih Bukhari, Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, No. 212]
AlhumduAllaah the Salafis are not negligent but rather this disease has been adopted by ahl al bidah.

Part of the problem is that some of us dress like kuffar ourselves and so when we tell our women to fear Allaah and dress like the sahaabiyaat they say ” what about you?” My wife would find it very strange if I went to Walmart or something like that with jeans/khakis etc. without an izaar or a thobe on . We can’t do the “do as I say not as I do da’wa”. Your wife in all black with niqaab and you with a Giants jersey with the matching fitted cap isn’t cool ya ikhwa.
This is true, many Muslim men neglect enjoining the good and forbidding the evil to those under them.
This is also the men’s fault for not enforcing this upon their women, but rather their men are too scared to advise them & or they are negligent/ heedless to enforce this upon their mothers, sisters, daughters, & wives! Their women looking like fools walk the streets clothed but naked, imitating the filthy kufaar thinking that the hijab is a mere fashion trend while their so called men that walk with them look like cuckolds & they are an embarrassment to the blessed Deen of Allaah.
