The neediness could also mean that the person who is needy really isn’t happy with the person they’re in a relationship with and are having difficulties coming to terms with this. If you are too needy it means you need to get out of the relationship and be on your own for a while until you figure things out for yourself and what you really want.

She means needy as in desperate not as in needing. Eating is a necessity to survive but if you have a fridge stock with food you wouldn’t be desperate for food. If you met a girl who likes you, you would be desperate to get her if you have many other affectionate women in your life. Get it?
