Kanye’s look at 4:11 is like “You fuckin’ stole my show!”
I agree Kanye is laughable at singing, but I have this theory as to why he did. Maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know. From 2:24 to about 3:11 they had vernon’s mic too low. Once they corrected the mistake, Kanye did an admirable thing (in my opinion) at 3:22 and had the music continue where it would have stopped so that Vernon could perform at a proper volume level. Kanye’s not one to just sit there nodding his head listening quietly to greatness while he’s still on stage so he had to join in.
What’s that? Monster has 6 million views on YouTube, and Skinny Love has 15 million? You’re so totally right.

I wasn’t comparing the quality or characteristics of the music. I was just saying that comparing a rapper to an indie rock guy is like comparing a jazz musician to a folk artist. It isn’t a practical comparison because the two are absolutely nothing alike.

Why is it that people keep trying to compare Kanye to Justin vernon? They’re two totally different styles of music. It’s like trying to compare Charles Mingus to Bob Dylan, you may prefer one over the other, but neither is objectively better because they can’t be measured against the same standards. Mingus was more about musicality (jazz) while Dylan was more about lyrics (folk).

Kanye goes off pitch at 3:13 … 3:18 … 3:23 … 3:30 …sounds like a 3 year old singing at 3:40 … 3:51 … 3:55 … and goes off pitch AGAIN at 4:00 … so basically EVERY time he attempts to sing without autotune he sounds worse than one of those american idol contestants that gets laughed at and just walks away without a word from the judges…he’s a tone deaf jerk that doesn’t deserve to have the prodigy that is Justin Vernon on his stage…and he knows it, look at his face at 4:11
