Not sure about the movie, but in the book, R starts to come back to life towards the end, and when they kiss he is fully healed.
I’m so tired of people comparing this movie to twilight. Twilight sucks, this actually looks good.
I remember when zombies were evil. The idea behind the story, which sounds very tongue-in-cheek and harmless, but I find this to be a litte disturbing when you scratch the surface. Why would someone have a relationship with a corpse? Zombie films always seem to skim over the fact that it is a decomposed body that stinks like death. If they kiss at the end of the film, imagine the cesspool of deadly bacteria breeding it his mouth. Listerine can’t kill that. Morbid film, I’ll pass.
This movie will suck, when I first saw this trailer my faith in western civilization has lowered to zero. Fuck this trailer, fuck this movie, and fuck America.
actually it isn’t love that brings R back to life, its teaching them how to be human again, that was the secret. and the holding of the hands is a universal symbol that everyone can relate too, everyone has held hands with someone, so in a way thats how the zombies could remember their own lives and have dreams about what used to be.

Like you said, the association between vampires and love and sex has been done to death (pun intended) some better some worse (Twilight) ,but this is intriguing in that it reverses the perspective on zombies, who have nearly always been the generic ‘bad guys’ I think far from ‘sexifying’ zombies, this is about reconsidering things like stereotype, and convention and prejudice and seeing that there is a potential to get it wrong, and the chance for redemption, which is why I will be seeing it

So, the thing that makes this movie incredibly cheesy is the fact that love brings R back to life, but that’s a mistake. In the book it clearly states that he actually caught an antivirus before he even met Julie, but she just speeds up the process. That’s why in the beginning he can think clearly, because he had the antivirus.
I think this movie is going to be really good. Im no twilight fan or any fan of romance but with this new twist. I think it will be very interesting to see especially with the perspective of a zombie.

well.. here’s the problem i have with the idea is that “love can do annyyytthinnngg” *big googly eyes with sparkles* You may be the audience for that however i’m a bit more, realistic than an idealist. I have my doubts with this film
Everyone who is talking about the movie being like Twilight and ‘sexy zombies’ you’re pretty off, if anything, compared to the book, the Boneys have a much bigger, more violent role. They are mentioned in a few chapters of the book and aren’t mentioned again, as I saw it they acted as a government, with their own form of church. The book focuses on how love is so powerful it cures these people and they become more human.
it’s kind of funny, because i’m currently reading the book, and it’s really a zombie who becomes conflicted because as he learns more of falling in love, the more alive he becomes-so the killing parts and death is more of a guy appeal i think.
Looks like a movie for people who are into necrophilia.
The book in of itself had basically no correlation with Twilight. The characters had depth, violence was top notch, the humor was fantastic, and the prose was beautifully written. The fact that people compare this to Twilight saddens me a great deal. It seems like no matter what comes out, Twilight has to be mentioned in some form or another. This is not a zombie Twilight, so stop comparing the two.
