What he’s referring to is what we in Psychology refer to as Classical Conditioning. Its the basic process where you learn to associate certain stimulus and the response they trigger with one another. You basically condition a stimulus which is the song to trigger an emotion of excitement or “THE PUMP”. Its a very advantageous psychological strategy.
